This novel was amazing. A Stranger is Watching I have to admit that this is the first book I have ever read a book by this famous author. It's kind of understandable, it makes sense. Very well-written and fun suspense story. The novel opens as Steve and Sharon debate capital punishment. Her recent books include All By Myself, Alone, I've Got My Eyes On You, and You Don't Own Me. At the same time we're supposed to believe good Ronald Thompson would be put to death so swiftly for a crime he committed when he was 17.

I have read books by Clark in the past that I loved, so I was taken aback when I found this book to be different than expected and overall disappointing. I could visualise Grand Central Station, from the graphic details. Higgins Clark knows how to build tension, how to bring threads and characters together, and how to keep the reader turning pages. I started it one school night and had to stay up until three to finish it. Ronald Thompson knows he never killed Nina Peterson—yet in two days the state of Connecticut will take his life, having found him guilty via due process of law.

The time frame got a little confusing when going back and forth between the different characters. It only took me 3 days to finish reading this book and every time I had to stop, I couldn't help but feel sad to put it down. There is also a sort of murder mystery at hand that, at the beginning of the book may seem to already be solved, but it begins to change as you uncover just what was actually happening all along. Many of her titles have made the best sellers list. Her books are international bestsellers.

I liked the overall concept of this book, but some parts of the way it was executed caused me to feel a bit disappointed. Not even the love and friendship of Sharon Martin, a journalist who is slowly becoming a part of their world, will ever erase their bitter memories. I've only read 4 novels of Mary Clark's, and this is by far the best one out of them all! I really should pick up more books by this author or evern re-read this one. But in the shadows a stranger waits, a cunning psychopath who has killed before, who has unfinished business at the Peterson home.

Ok, that's a great book, alright. And there were even times where I became confused about who was speaking. It is average and would not stand out in a stack of 500 books. This book is a page turner, once you start reading it you'll find it very hard to put it down. I am only reading it because it was left in a holiday apartment I am renting.

I've become a big fan of Mary Higgins Clark since a colleague of mine gave me to read Two little girls in blue. Higgins Clark adds a bit of romance to her characters as Steve and Sharon try to understand their relationship. But Thompson's death will not stop the pain and anger of Nina's husband, Steve. You're kinda required to feel sorry for asthma ridden Neil and dull Sharon as they endure their horrid confinement. This book follows the story of a man named Steve as well as his son Neil and Steve's girlfriend Sharon.

I think that the author will never kill a main character, unless the latter has died in the past, viewed via flashbacks. But I "only" give 4 stars because of the stereotypes in this book: to quote only 1 of them: in Grand Central Station,the description. Thompson's death will not still the fears of Nina's six-year-old son, Neil, witness to his mother's brutal slaying. You must accept that great hatred exists for his victims and proceed from there. However, Clark's cookie-cutter writing formula all but guaranteed her trademark ending. Ronald Thompson knows he is not guilty of the murder for which he is about to be executed.
