The Pact by the Three Doctors is a non-fiction book written by Drs. Sampson Davis, George Jenkins, and Rameck Hunt, three African American men who grew up in inner-city Newark, New Jersey. The book tells the story of how the three doctors formed a pact as teenagers to support each other in their journey to become doctors.
Growing up in poverty and facing numerous challenges, including violence, drugs, and limited resources, the three friends made a commitment to each other to overcome these obstacles and pursue their dreams of becoming doctors. They faced numerous setbacks and challenges along the way, including financial struggles, academic challenges, and personal struggles. Despite these difficulties, they remained committed to their pact and to each other, and eventually all three were accepted into medical school.
Throughout the book, the three doctors share their personal stories and the lessons they learned along the way. They emphasize the importance of education and hard work, and the role that supportive relationships, such as their pact, played in their success. They also discuss the challenges and obstacles that they faced as African American men in a predominantly white field, and the importance of perseverance and determination in overcoming these barriers.
