I liked the writing style and description of settings. It follows the stories of 3 main characters---Savitri, Nataraj, and Sarojini through 5 decades 1920's to 1970's on 3 continents: India, British Guyana, and England. With eloquent writing, this book turned out to be an absolute pleasure to read. With vivid description and extraordinary characterization, the book bewitched me from start. I really enjoyed most of this book, specifically the fact that it had three different narrators living in different places and times. She at first spins protective silk thoughts around herself, trapping herself so she can grow her wings.
