Psalm 27, also known as Psalm 27:1-14, is a beautiful and uplifting prayer of trust and hope in God. It begins with the psalmist declaring his confidence in God, saying, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1 KJV).
The psalmist goes on to express his desire to dwell in the house of the Lord and behold His beauty, saying, "One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in His temple" (Psalm 27:4 KJV).
Despite facing troubles and enemies, the psalmist trusts in God to protect and deliver him, saying, "Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident" (Psalm 27:3 KJV). He also asks for God's guidance, saying, "Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies" (Psalm 27:11 KJV).
In the midst of these challenges, the psalmist finds hope and strength in God, declaring, "I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living" (Psalm 27:13 KJV). He concludes the psalm with a prayer of trust and praise, saying, "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord" (Psalm 27:14 KJV).
Overall, Psalm 27 is a powerful reminder of the importance of trusting in God and finding hope and strength in Him, even in the face of difficulties and challenges. It is a reminder that God is our light, our salvation, and the strength of our lives, and that He is always with us to guide and protect us.
Psalm 27 KJV;NKJV
The enemies will try all their best to lead us astray and miss the best opportunities of our lives to honor God. In the mean time he should be strengthened to bear up under his burdens. Second, we should also ask the Lord to lead us or give us the right direction in reaching the way He wants us to go. After describing God's security so eloquently, he now fervently prays for rescue and deliverance. Gratitude is imperative in serving and following God. He would not merely admit him to His premises; not only to the vestibule of His house; not only to the open court, or to the parts of His house frequented by the rest of His family; but he would admit him to the private apartments - the place to which He Himself withdrew to be alone, and where no stranger, and not even one of the family, would venture to intrude. We find it easy to trust in our wisdom, our experience, our friends, and our resources.

The temple was thought a safe place for Nehemiah to lie hid in, My head shall be lifted up above mine enemies — He will advance me above them, and give me a complete victory over them. His confidence is solely on God. The call is general, "Seek ye my face;" but we must apply it to ourselves, "I will seek it. Do you earnestly desire to seek God as well? What if the Lord refuses to let His presence touch you in your darkest and most heart-rending moment? Compare He shall hide me; or, hath hid me; or, useth to hide me. Enduring Word Bible Commentary Psalm 27
He is our salvation; the one who rescues; and the one who saves. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD. He pursues God, the one whom he can rest his heart and surrender his trials. Even just the thought of it is already agonizing in the minds of those who desperately seek the presence of God. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Justly do I prize the house and service of God so highly, both because I have such vast obligations to him for his former protection and favours, and because all my hope, and confidence, and security depends upon him.
