Measure for Measure is a play by William Shakespeare that tells the story of Claudio, a young man who is sentenced to death for fornication by the strict and moralistic Duke Vincentio. While this may seem that Isabella is being weak, the act of forgiving her abuser shows a much greater strength in her character.
