I did not expect much of this film, which can be viewed on YouTube with English subtitles , both because it looked low-budget and because I had not to my knowledge ever watched a film made in the Philippines before. This film was shown here in London during the Foreign film exhibition together with other remarkable Filipino films like Imelda, American Adobo. The story is around the family and people surrounds Magnifico. Heck, I'd even say that this can go in par with ANY François Truffaut film. It's a melodrama, but it's honest about it". The best movie i have ever seen in my entire life. The little boy who played the character "Magnifico" was just perfect for the part -- as were all of the actors. Not only is Lola no longer able to work, but the doctor diagnoses her with terminal cancer. Thanks to the producer, director Maryo and the cast especially Jiro, definitely a natural. Everybody loves this movie so I had high expectations. Hedidn'teven bother how people look at them.

The ticket is very reasonable and if you will rent a pirated DVD from Filipino supermarket they charge more and very bad reception.
