"Her Story" is a video game released in 2015 that centers around a woman named Hannah Smith, who is being interviewed by a detective about the disappearance of her husband. Throughout the game, Hannah reveals bits and pieces of her past and her relationship with her husband Simon. We learn that Simon was a successful doctor, but also controlling and emotionally abusive towards Hannah. She admits to having an affair with a man named Jake, who she met through a support group for victims of domestic abuse. Hannah and Jake began a secret relationship, and Simon eventually found out about it.

Simon had threatened Hannah and Jake, and Hannah reveals that she was afraid for her life. On the night of Simon's disappearance, Hannah and Jake had planned to leave town together, but Simon had not returned home as expected. The next morning, Hannah found that Simon's car was gone and he was nowhere to be found.
Throughout the game, Hannah's emotions and memories are revealed through her interviews, and the player must decide what to believe and what may be lies. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Hannah is not the only one with secrets, and that there may be more to Simon's disappearance than meets the eye.

There are several clips that indicate that she may have transitioned during the interview from Hannah to eve or vice versa because she looks at the camera confused and asks if the camera is recording. After this revelation, Lin Chen-hsi returns to the current reality. The old lord told all the servants that Miss Maude Furnivall had disgraced herself, and that he had thrown her and her child out of the house and forbade the servants from helping them. We experience it only by searching words, and viewing the clips that come up, one response at a time. Hester guesses that Miss Grace Furnivall is almost 80.

Eve also puts sugar in her tea, maybe cream too at one point? Another thing that was said in passing that I feel is significant was the cat door. However, because the old lord continued to grow weaker and Miss Grace Furnivall lived in the west wing, while she lived in the east wing, Miss Maude Furnivall thought she could have her daughter live with her in secret. There are periods of time she loses and I think that may be when she transitions — like when she fell asleep on the car trip and when her parents were sick.

The police were supposed to have bought their story by now. Edge thought that by having game mechanics which require the player to deduce the story through investigation and intuition, Her Story was one of few games "that truly deliver on the foundational fantasy of detective work. Initially, Li Hao-Ming doubted Li Chen-Hsi, but after going through her reports, he sympathized with her. Nevertheless, the question is, why did Jane kill Martin? The footage itself, although it consists of 271 video files, only adds up to about an hour and 37 minutes, meaning that the complete script is comparable to the length of the screenplay of a typical feature film. Telling Lies came out right when I was in the initial prep phase for this whole series, and so I played it immediately—I was wondering if I should maybe substitute my analysis of HER STORY with an analysis of it, to offer up something more timely. The possibility that a cat got the bird introduces the possibility that the bird was killed, echoing the conflict at the center of the story: a murder. However, she kills like most sophisticated sociopaths, carefully and with premeditation.
