Overall, I see this work as an invitation. While there is no end date or predetermined outcome for the Jupiter Hammon Project, we hope to inspire those who visit Joseph Lloyd Manor to seek out marginalized voices in history. Throughout her poems, Wheatley expresses that moving to America is a blessing from God, which is very contrary to the popular belief amongst slaves, but very much so aligned with the whites who served as her audience. This repetitiveness is something that Hammon's contemporaries may have criticized him for.
