One modern day hero who stands out to me is Malala Yousafzai. Malala is a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. At the age of 15, she was targeted and shot by the Taliban for speaking out in favor of education for girls. Despite this attempt on her life, Malala refused to be silenced and continued to fight for the rights of girls to receive an education.
In addition to her activism, Malala has also written a book, "I Am Malala," which tells the story of her experiences growing up in Pakistan and her fight for education. This book has inspired millions of people around the world and has helped to raise awareness about the importance of education for girls.
Another modern day hero is Dr. Jane Goodall, a world-renowned primatologist and conservationist. Dr. Goodall has dedicated her life to studying and protecting chimpanzees and other primates, and has made numerous groundbreaking discoveries about their behavior and social relationships. In addition to her scientific work, Dr. Goodall is also an advocate for environmental conservation and has worked to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our planet's natural resources.
