I admit, I loved the ending so much, I read it about five times. Sachar makes every word count. Great book, 4 stars. After Kate leaves to become an outlaw, he marries Linda Miller but his family loses everything after the lake dries up. And there are moments of characterization that are fabulously done - "Buttface," for example. Stanley tries to dig up the truth in this inventive and darkly humorous tale of crime and punishment—and redemption.

Clearly I've missed the bigger picture with Fuzzy Mud and the hype surrounding Louis Sachar. . I absolutely loved the way the author has introduced and built up each and every character in the book — especially the three central characters of Tamaya, Marshall and Chad. In his first week of study, Sideways Stories from Wayside was published. She and Marshall make a break for it, expecting with every step that Chad will follow them. REVIEW: FUZZY MUD by Louis Sachar As a mother of three, grandmother of nine, I try to. He has written several successful plays and the screenplay for the film version of his book Louis was born in East Meadow, New York, moved to Tustin, California when he was nine, and now lives in Austin, Texas. Before I found out? When I was a kid, Louis Sachar was my hero for writing Holes. And there are moments of characterization that are fabulously done - "Buttface," for example. Sep-1993 4 - Alone in His Teacher's House Mar-1994 5 - Class President Mar-1999 6 - A Flying Birthday Cake? The next year, he wrote his first book, Sideways Stories from Wayside School. And though parts of it were hard to read it was well worth reading. They're utterly brilliant, and being placed in a super-prep "smart school" makes the story so much more believable.

Despite this, he is intelligent and manages to stand for himself in the face of adversity, breaking Mr. I never knew that Holes was by him too until I actually scanned the cover. A curse that began with his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather and has since followed generations of Yelnats.

Kids will eat up "Fuzzy Mud". Sachar delivers in FUZZY MUD a perfect book. But overall, despite it being a scary concept for a middle-grade book, I found myself really enjoying the book, especially the characters. It's marketed to 10 years and up, but it would have to be a VERY advanced 10 year old that I would hand this too. I confess: despite this salutary intent, until I read FUZZY MUD I had never read the prolific, incredibly talented, LOUIS SACHAR!! I received this book from the publisher for my unbiased, honest review. This book is also incredibly DARK. Retrieved March 8, 2021.

Fuzzy Mud by Louis Sachar

The Cardturner, published by Bloomsbury in June 2010, is a truly original romance, coming of age and mystery novel. Stanley, who is in middle school, is convicted of stealing a pair of athletic shoes that baseball player Clyde "Sweet Feet" Livingston had donated to a charity auction for the homeless. They find themselves becoming lost, and discover so much in the dark woods that no one has ever even seen before, which saves the world from a worldwide epidemic. They find a suitcase but are caught by the Warden. I thought it over and decided it was a pretty good deal.

. The Warden claims that the suitcase was stolen from her, but the suitcase has "Stanley Yelnats" written on it. She uses her power and privilege to get what she wants and make members of the camp do as she pleases. The only thing preventing this really, really amazing book from being five stars is "Holes". And one day, he wants to take a shortcut, and Tamaya is very surprised.

Louis Sachar, author of the wildly successful book Holes, brings middle grade readers another story with his trademark style in the well-intended but ultimately hollow book Fuzzy Mud. I knew that I've seen the name of the author somewhere, though I wasn't so sure about what other books he has written. This book is a Best of 2015, without a doubt. Chad catches up with them and when Tamaya throws a handful of mud into his face, the trouble begins. It is a prison-industries camp for underages. This novel is just as mature and filled with a broad, thought-provoking subject matter than any other read, and even if you're not a huge fan of books that speak of the environment and all of that, you'll get a huge thrill from reading Fuzzy Mud. Holes chronicles life at a hellish boot camp for juvenile delinquents, whose punishment is the endless digging of holes under a grueling sun, and the novel has won a slew of kudos for the Austin author, most notably a National Book Award. .

Why did the author have to make up some distinctive intelligent title for the infesting bacteria that young people are going to read about? And still I loved A fantastic-spectacular-discovery-treat! While attending college, he went to work at an elementary school, where he was asked to be the "Noon Time Supervisor" to watch over the kids during lunch. I'd love to see what this book would look like if it were the length of Holes. The title captivated me from the start! Having not read the authors previous work in Holes, I still expected an incredible middle grade read, but it felt disorganised and fell flat sadly. Retrieved October 29, 2015.
