She talks about having trouble getting up stairs and wants to move to a retirement home in Arizona. She was called Falling Star by her Arapaho mother. Along the way, she befriends a dog who seems to need a friend and although she knows she shouldn't, she lets him tag along. But I didn't dislike the book. If you like adventure and mystery stories you would like this book. The overall message is one of kindness and scientific temperance.

He describes things about Adaline that Ellis picks up on, such as her interest in languages and driving skills. An ambulance takes her to the hospital. Ever since, she has changed her identification and address according to the era, while her daughter Flemming ages normally, to the point where she appears older than Adaline. When she allows an abandoned dog to join her on the trail, and to enter her heart, everything she ever knew about love and loyalty is put to the test. I didnt really know what to expect because I just picked up this small book in order to get it read for my Young Adult Lit. I would recommend reading it.

I love the courageous and brave attitude that Adaline displays in this book and really think that it could stick out to many readers and she could be seen as inspirational for her acts. It contains themes of racism, slavery, agriculture, spirituality, etc. While he is on expedition, he leaves her with a school teacher cousin. Louis while he heads west on a scouting expedition. So often people associate racism with just white and black people but racism can reach out to numerous groups of people including Native Americans and whites. Adaline pretends to not know an answer but after a diss by Ellis she goes all out and wins.

When she finds out that the Fremont expedition has returned and her father is nowhere to be seen, she runs away. This has more depth and is more thought provoking. After heartbreak and her relative are about to have her sent to an insane asylum, she runs away.
One time Adaline falls off this boat. A young man walks up to Adaline and tries a smooth line about kissing a stranger at midnight. Trying to handle her grief, she cuts her arms and legs according to Arapaho custom. However, the men tell her to leave the dog behind. He tells a terrible joke and she laughs. Louis to stay with Carson's cousin and his family.
