Movie Truth is a thought-provoking and highly influential documentary that examines the role of media in shaping public perception and understanding of events. Through a series of interviews with media experts, journalists, and others, the film delves into the ways in which the media often distorts, manipulates, and misrepresents the truth in order to serve its own interests.

One of the key themes of Movie Truth is the concept of "fake news," which has become a hot topic in recent years as more and more people have come to doubt the veracity of what they see and hear in the media. The film argues that fake news is not a new phenomenon, but rather a centuries-old tactic used by those in power to manipulate public opinion and further their own agendas. From propaganda campaigns during World War II to the current proliferation of fake news on social media, the film shows how fake news has consistently been used to deceive and mislead people.

Another key theme of Movie Truth is the concept of "agenda setting," which refers to the way in which the media determines what stories and issues are worthy of coverage, and how much attention they receive. The film argues that the media often sets the agenda for public discourse by choosing what stories to cover and how to cover them, and that this can have a profound impact on the way people think about and understand the world around them.

One of the most compelling aspects of Movie Truth is its examination of the role of corporate media in shaping public perception. The film argues that large media corporations are driven by profit, and that they often prioritize sensationalism and sensational headlines over accuracy and objectivity. This can lead to the distortion of the truth and the creation of a distorted view of the world for the public.

Overall, Movie Truth is a must-see for anyone interested in the role of media in shaping public understanding and perception. It is a thought-provoking and eye-opening film that challenges viewers to think critically about the media and its role in our society.

Truth movie review & film summary (2015)

movie truth review

The director went to a gold mine and barely got silver. It's the script that makes you cringe. It certainly feels that way as soundbites rate higher on Twitter than speeches, and segments of news programs feel devoted to salacious details more than presenting the full picture. Overall I Liked the movie okay and I wouldn't mind watching it again one day. Plot twists and turns do not disappoint. While not god awful, they did well considering, it was hard accommodating a bulk of the cast.

‘The Truth’ Review: Who Wants a French Screen

movie truth review

Overall the movie as some decent young actors in it and is a passable horror movie so i suggest giving Truth or Dare a chance. There is a kernel of a horror within this premise. But it takes action right now, and politicians in every nation must have the courage to do what is necessary. It is caused by human activity. And you get a really stupid grin on your face before you do it because a demon or something invades your body and takes you over and kills you if you don't do it. Olivia Lucy Hale and a couple of her college friends take a trip to Mexico for a final getaway before graduation. How is it possible that Forest Whitaker and Andy Garcia even know Lee? I was looking forward in particular to see Kim Coates outside of his Sons of Anarchy role, Andy Garcia is a good actor, and I am a huge fan of Forest Whitaker.

Truth (2015)

Why is she in this film? This is the third time I see Andy Garcia, one of my favourite actors, in a film in which he was involved in the production. When It finished, I asked myself "is this all? Shes in no way memorable, distracting if anything. The two main locations give a jarring disconnected cheap feel to the movie. There are some films that are ineffably themselves, like " I saw her first in " She carries "The Truth About Charlie," as she must, because all of the other characters revolve around her, sometimes literally. That character is supposed to be so moved by what she saw that she turns against the company she and her brother control; the brother Bruce Swinton, played rather well by veteran actor Kim Coates, has to make cruel decisions and does. I might make clear here the movie is not a dud but it's very troubled, both formally editing and writing issues, mostly and in terms of its purported content. The Game continues Round after Round.

This is the best picture Damian Lee has ever made! There are changes in the Gulf Stream and the jet stream. Hurricane Katrina passed over Florida, doubled back over the Gulf, picked up strength from unusually warm Gulf waters, and went from Category 3 to Category 5. The real problem with this movie is the political left trying to spin the story to make themselves look like heroes and martyrs. That's the only truth here. What a bunch of horse spit! When they agree to tell the truth or take a dare, they've no choice. One only prays the hope conveyed here is realistic.

Bruce keeps the water treatment failure from his sister Morgan and gunman Tor Kevin Durand is hired. With that said, their work can't come close to saving this turkey. The film bounces around from the jungles to the high-top people trying to cover up the crime and also gives us flashbacks to the CIA agent working as a radio host giving off various speeches. I was pleasantly surprised. Instead, the story plods along to its inevitably dismal conclusion with all who have anything to do with Mapes being ruined.

Truth or Dare (2018)

movie truth review

Sadly, the fine actor, Andy Garcia, is not properly exploited in this film. And it raises important questions about democracy, politics, and privilege. A DARK TRUTH is a really bad movie in several ways but a lot of the blame has to go to writer-director Damian Lee who just doesn't come up with a very interesting story or a good way to tell it. Robert Redford does a credible job as Dan Rather, capturing many of his mannerisms. The game starts and so does chaos which follows the group back to their hometown, releasing all their deepest and darkest secrets.

A Dark Truth (2012)

Since glaciers and snow reflect sunlight but sea water absorbs it, the more the ice melts, the more of the sun's energy is retained by the sea. Call me crazy but that's a pretty cool concept if you ask me, a supernatural force that forces you to play the game and it doesn't matter where you run to or where you hide you can Never Escape the game, that's pretty creepy. There are already too much bad movies out there, there is no need to do more. The rest of the ensemble cast goes toe-to-toe with her, including Redford, whose performance here serves as a book end to his All the President's Men classic. Just check out the scenes between Garcia and his wife were the edits back and forth between them are so annoying that you just want to scream.

Quaid is decent, but feels wasted. It turns out that the game is possessed by a demon who follows them and forces them to continue playing the game until every player is dead. So then we get back to Garcia drawn to the jungle to single-handedly with a revolver save these rebels from the advancing army troops. They use this horrifying cinematic mayhem to draw you in and make you in theory sympathize with the rebels, and with the ordinary people who just want to live and have clean water. This is all going well until quite late in the film the whole premise of the game is downright ruined by the demon actually ignoring the rules of the game, taking control of a body and then stabbing who it admits is the only person that could have stopped the game. I have see better quality from North Korean puff films.
