Jamie does not return to school the following Monday, and it is finally revealed that he is too ill to return to school. Jamie's slow, painful walk down the aisle is, indeed, "a walk to remember. . It is interesting to note that Jamie is the one asking these questions — this from someone whose answer to any of life's curveballs was that "God has a plan. When Landon collected the jar, it was only. The Christmas Angel, Jamie enters the stage dressed as the angel, On New Year's Eve, Jamie and Landon go to dinner and share their first dance.
Opinion about the main character: I liked Landon's growth of being a teenager that is confused and could not forgive. One day, while sitting next to Jamie while she sleeps, Landon comes up with an idea. He visits her the next day, and they kiss. In the statue, Bunyan holds an oversized bowling ball. London is more private, which creates some tension in their relationship. Seventeen-year-old Landon is a senior at Beaufort High School, which collaborates each year with Southern Baptist Church on a Christmas play called The Christmas Angel. Unlike before, when he did not like to think about his grandfather, Landon can now discuss his grandfather's ill-gotten fortune with Jamie in spite of his discomfort.
Landon is more reclusive, which causes some tension in their relationship. They end up falling in love, and then he finds out that she has cancer and ends up marrying her. His father is a genial, charismatic congressman. They are both decent human beings at heart as well; it just takes Landon longer to realize this than Jamie. The next day, Landon and Jamie have an equally intense conversation — one that would likely have made him deeply uncomfortable in the past — regarding his grandfather's legacy. He wrote it in North Carolina, which is the setting of the novel.
When they have dinner at London's house, Jamie tells Landon, "I love you too", for the first time. . When Landon tells Jamie that he loves her, she realizes that she must tell him her stunning news: She is dying of a rare form of leukemia and has only a few months to live. The novel opens with a Prologue, in which the older Landon, living in the same North Carolina town as he did at the age of 17, stands near the Baptist church that figures prominently in the novel and gets himself in the mindset of his 17-year-old self. But even after questioning her own beliefs, Jamie manages to get a grip on them.

Fifty-seven-year-old Landon Carter narrates the novel, reflecting on events from 40 years in the past. One of Grandfather Carter's employees was Reverend Sullivan, who still harbors resentments against the Carters. A few weeks later, Landon tells Jamie that he's in love with her.
I'm sure many of you know what the majority of Nicholas Sparks's books are: tearjerkers which aim to make the reader fall in love with the novel, only to cry at the end. Jamie is visibly hurt. So, in order to help his chances of acceptance, his father decides that Landon will run for Student Body President at Beaufort High School. Jamie does not catch Eric's mocking tone and loves the idea. Likewise with Jamie Sullivan.
Landon would never have dreamed of it. At this juncture, I can barely see how fragile the foundation of their love is. Landon then formulates his entire campaign around passing out obligatory fliers and getting his best friend, Eric Hunter, the best player on the football team, to strong arm the team and their girlfriends to vote for him. Landon runs back to Jamie and asks, "Will you marry me? How did you achieve such a successful transition in a character's voice? Along her journey, Phoenix's character is revealed to be humorous and in touch with nature, determined and willing to go the distance, and extremely prideful of her appearance and her family.
