Rebecca and Tommy's parents are stricken with grief. This is definitely not a movie for everyone. She comes to visit her grandfather in the wintry, windswept beach town where Tommy and his parents live. The seller's reply to me was ". The continuity error was glaring, but it was not the only thing that rankled the audience throughout the movie. Nora Aunor has a face that can communicate a multitude of emotions with no words spoken. From his infancy to manhood, she faces the unavoidable complexities of her controversial decision.

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them. These sequences serve little function beyond getting our protagonists to move from point A to point B on the narrative map. OK this film is not perfect by any means. Despite being denied of any of the three Best Picture awards at stake at the Metro Manila Film Fest this year, I believe this film should be seen by all for its cultural value.

Fee and Thomas Tristan Christopher are a match because they live close to each other on a beautiful stretch of windswept beach and love to go exploring. She deftly balances her desire for the lost Tommy with the maternal responsibility to shield her son. Upon opening the padded shipping envelope, I observed that the Blu-Ray's case clearly indicates that this is specifically a Region-B-only disc. Eva Green doesn't necessarily deliver a bad performance. Womb hopes to be both a sci-fi cautionary tale in the manner of A. Sons And Lovers: As the clone Tommy grows older, Rebecca must reconcile her romantic feelings for the old Tommy with her maternal instincts. .

When Thomas is a child, they live as any ordinary single mother with a son would, though at the onset of adulthood, as Thomas not only begins to resemble the person Rebecca knew, but also becomes sexually active, Rebecca is torn inextricably between her protective, maternal instincts and her burning desire to be his lover. The best part of this movie however, is the whole rest of the movie and the psychological messages it shoots, putting ourselves the viewers in the most uncomfortable of situations, thinking about what taboo means. Her character, a childless midwife, spends mindless hours here looking for a second wife for her husband—a woman who could bring the much-needed bundle of joy missing from their humdrum existence. Although wary of the potential repercussions, Tommy's parents reluctantly agree to supply Rebecca with the necessary DNA sample for her to bear a new Tommy in her womb. It actually agrees with my thinking that we are not born into our current character but rather molded into it by our environment. Featuring a small cast and only a few locations, Womb was clearly shaped by its low budget. The film is very slow paced, almost like reading a comic book in movie format.

Fliegauf, it should be noted, proves to be a very capable stylist, and one hopes to see his eye for atmosphere applied at some point to more robust material his latest film, Only the Wind, apparently shows marked improvement. The sexual tension rises and they both end up having sex. No one reacts like that in that situation, not even Rebecca! I felt like I was actually there given the realism of execution. Even his recent discovery of the "truth" doesn't justify it and then everything from that point onwards simply makes no sense. When Rebecca departs suddenly for Japan with her mother, the two are separated.

You see moments from the lives of characters. But whatever happens, Womb is more melancholy than erotic. There were scenes of endless waiting. Nora did in the course of shooting this film are obviously arduous when we see the finished product. Very simple plot, and the dialogues as a script I think only took couple of pages for the whole two hours movie. Though Tommy's mother objects, his father agrees to give Rebecca Tommy's cell material, but urges her to think through her decision carefully before proceeding.

The ease of human cloning is perhaps the only clue that Womb is set in tomorrow land. A woman's consuming love forces her to bear the clone of her dead beloved. The trouble is that its execution lacks the conviction necessary for establishing psychological and social credibility, both of which it presumes to offer with the self-importance of a visionary epic. The ending sequences seemed rushed to meet a deadline, or something. Mother and son remain close after he reaches young adulthood. The smouldering love they felt for each other as children comes pulsing back, and they quickly become romantically entangled.

Ultimately, it's the arrival of an older woman that threatens Rebecca and Tommy's womblike existence. Fliegauf plays the situation with the sort of ballsy determination that Spielberg should have had with his uneven if underrated A. He buries the pleo his mother gave him for his birthday while out playing with his friend. The movie is so slow and quiet, and his performance so odd, that at one point randomly in the film he bangs on the table angrily for a good minute or so and then just leaves the room - which I found hilarious. A woman A love story is then told between two children, Rebecca and Tommy, who swear each other eternal love. When Tommy brings a girlfriend, Monica, home to stay with them Rebecca behaves jealously, to both Tommy's and Monica's bewilderment.

But silence of this kind also functions as a cheap narrative shortcut, because it becomes all too easy to suggest a rich inner life without needing to actually illustrate one dramatically; that lack is what separates minimalism from plain old vacuity. Hobbled by a faulty script, reckless editing, and lack of coherence, the movie became a work that was too full of itself it was simply too painful to watch in its entirety. Devastated, Rebecca feels that life cannot go on without Tommy. The young Thomas is probably a better actor than the older Thomas. A woman's consuming love forces her to bear the clone of her dead beloved.
