As a human, there are many things that I often find myself longing for. One of those things is the ability to fly, to soar through the air and experience the world from a different perspective. And when I think about flying, the first creature that comes to mind is the butterfly.
Butterflies are known for their delicate beauty and their ability to fly from place to place with ease. They are often seen as symbols of transformation and rebirth, as they go through a process of metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly. This process is something that humans can only dream of experiencing.
If I were a butterfly, I would be free to explore the world in a way that humans can only imagine. I could flutter through gardens and fields, taking in the sights and smells of nature. I could travel to distant lands, experiencing new cultures and ways of life. And when I was tired, I could simply rest on a flower or a leaf, letting the world pass me by as I basked in the warmth of the sun.
But it's not just the freedom of flight that I long for as a butterfly. It's also the sense of wonder and joy that comes with being able to experience the world in a different way. Butterflies are often seen as symbols of hope and optimism, and I believe that this is because they are able to approach the world with a sense of wonder and appreciation that is often lost as humans grow older.
So if I could, I would gladly trade in my human form for the wings of a butterfly. The freedom and joy that comes with being able to fly and experience the world in a different way is something that I can only dream of, but it is a dream that I will always hold close to my heart.

After a frog tells him he is ugly, a cricket wishes to be a butterfly. In this story, a cricket wishes it was a butterfly, believing butterflies to be the most beautiful creatures. It is a perfect story to teach children that we all have unique abilities and special things in our own lives that allow us to be valuable people. This would be another book that would make a good transition from picture storybooks to short chapter books. It takes a wise friend to bring the music back, if it's possible. Overall, a beautiful story that readers can not only relate to, but gives them plenty to ponder. It is the spider who helps him to see himself through the loving eyes of a friend and to appreciate his gift for music. There is a lot of writing per page with very simple illustrations.
